ChemEcol D3 Diesel Treatment 250ml
ChemEcol D3 diesel treatment has been developed to improve the ecological footprint of your motoring.
Each 250ml bottle of ChemEcol D3 Diesel Treatment will treat up to 5 tanks of Diesel fuel.
Autocar magazine 5 star rated (16th January 2008). The Magazine said "We tested the petrol and diesel additives and found that economy improved by around three per cent."
It does this by reducing the pollutant emissions from your vehicle exhaust. Emissions of hydrocarbons, particulate and nitrogen oxides (NOx) are all reduced.
Fuel consumption is also reduced. With an improvement in fuel economy there is an additional environmental gain to be seen in a reduction in greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide (CO2).
ChemEcols's D3 industrial cousin Additone EC-1500 has been used in fuel for more than 5,000,000,000 miles. That is enough fuel to power a London bus on more than 25 round trips to the sun!
The bottle is designed to be safe and easy to use. It is not possible to radically over-dose your fuel as the maximum delivery of treatment is set at 50 ml (which treats 50 litres): Please see photo 3 for instructional diagram.
D3 diesel treatment has been seen in many miles of fleet trials and in scientific laboratory tests to reduce both pollution emissions and fuel consumption.
• Fuel economy is improved by up to 4%
• Particulates drop by up to 20%
• The more harmful ultra-fine particulates are reduced by up to 40%
• Less soot collects in the exhaust and on the engine cylinder walls and injectors
• Less soot is absorbed in to the lubricant oil reducing the thickening that can wear the engine
• Production of 16 of the most harmful hydrocarbon pollutants (the PAH's) is reduced by up to 25%
• Emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) are reduced by up to 6%
• Greenhouse gases are reduced. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is reduced by up to 4.5%
Any filtration or catalyst fitted in the exhaust system has less work to do to clean the exhaust charge.
How it Works:
Our fuel treatments are designed to improve the way your car, van, truck or bike burns its fuel. This is achieved through two main mechanisms:
1. Improved injector (or jet) spray. The fuel is mixed into the air (the mix is called the charge) by injectors. These make a very fine spray of fuel. In a diesel the fuel is sprayed into the engine cylinder, in a petrol into the carburetor or 'plenum chamber'.
It is best to have a very fine spray (atomized) so the flame can consume the droplets faster. If this does not happen the fuel does not completely burn and forms particles of ash or soot.
These particles are very harmful to health and can cause cancers and agitate asthma and skin complaints.
2. The treatments also alter the balance of the reactions that make up the combustion of the fuel. A flame burning either petrol or diesel is made up of many chemical reactions between the gases in the air and the hydrogen and carbon in the fuel.
The best reactions are those between the oxygen and the hydrogen and the oxygen and the carbon. However there is a large amount of nitrogen in the air and this can react with the oxygen at higher temperatures. By using the oxygen up with the carbon and hydrogen first, less nitrogen oxides are produced.
By burning more of the fuel and making less waste and by promoting the more attractive chemistry we produce less pollution and can go further per litre of fuel.
Remember, less fuel burned means less carbon dioxide produced.
